150 Wins for Simants

DUNNING, Nebraska (Feb. 1, 2019) — Seth Simants, a 160-pound senior wrestler at Stapleton High School, earned his 150th career win today at the Mid Nebraska Activities Conference Tournament.

Simants defeated Bryan Zutavern of Sandhills-Thedford, MD 11-3, to reach this milestone. He is currently 42-2 on the season and placed first at MNAC today.

“This is a great milestone for Seth. I know few individuals that have earned this honor with minimal wins by forfeit,” said Stapleton head coach Jason Wehnes. “This is a checkpoint toward his top goal; win state.”

His freshman year, Simants placed sixth at the NSAA State Wrestling Tournament, was a qualifier his sophomore year, and placed fourth his junior year. He is ranked first in the state by Nebraska Wrestle, first in the Nebraska Coaches Poll and first by Husker Mat.

Simants is the son of John and Jamie Simants and Jill Krzykowski.
