From the Superintendent's Desk

We are back. A new day, a new month, and a new year. We had a nice long Christmas break so we should all be refreshed and ready to hit the home stretch hard. I can hardly believe that we completed five months of this school year and we only have five months left to go.

Over the holidays we did run into some bad weather.  As for Christmas it was beautiful.  I hope everyone was able to spend some time with family, loved ones, and friends and I hope all made it through safely. We did have to cancel some ballgames but hey that wasn’t so bad.

The Stapleton Public Foundation Board has been very active this past year. They once again will have their Gala so save the first Friday in March—March 1st—for this festive event. The Foundation is always seeking donations and these can be given at any time. They are so appreciative and go to a good cause. Big or small they take them all. This is set up through the Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation. Donations can be sent to Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation at 121 N Dewey Suite # 112 Box 1321 North Platte Nebraska. On your check please write in the memo “Stapleton Public Schools Foundation Fund”.  They are also looking for items for the silent or live auction for the the Gala. Contact the school for more information.

While I am on my bandwagon don’t forget the Bronco Branded Beef Program. They are in need of beef donations and donations to defray other expenses. All of these projects are for the good of the school and to help make an already great District even better. The school is always striving to make a difference in their community.

We are welcoming a newly elected board member, Rich Burnside. He will begin this month. We thank Josh Allen for his time spent serving the District and his service to education. I personally enjoyed working with Josh and have respected his input at board meetings and our one on one conversations.  I wish Mr. Allen all the best in his future endeavors.  Josh has become an asset as a part time bus driver. This has been very appreciated at this time with the illness of Louie and his wife having to be gone so much. THANK YOU JOSH!

To be happy in 2019 you must - - Let go of what’s gone, Be grateful for what remains, and Look forward to what is on the way.  The truth is 2019 will be like any other year- -
365 days filled with different experiences every day. Remember HAPPY PEOPLE make a happier world. Be HAPPY, stay positive and make the best of each situation.
