Mrs. Isom and Mrs. Burnside are teaming up with the NHS group to host a Book Swap on October 15, 2024, during the Volleyball game in the Bronco room. It will last from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Students are asked to bring books from home that they have already read to swap with someone else to have a new book to read. For every book they bring in, they will get a ticket and can swap for each ticket they get. The books they bring in should be books in good condition. No tears, stains, or smelly books. It will be for all ages, even adults. We can't wait! Mrs. Isom would love to get some new reading material!

Students will get to see the real world applications of what they learn in math class by utilizing Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra 2 in: - Taxes- Fundamentals of Algebra - Checking Accounts-Linear Equations - Savings Accounts- Systems of Equations - Budgeting- Systems of Inequalities - Introduction to Investments- Exponential Equations - Types of Credit- Modeling Functions - Managing Credit- Statistics - Paying for College- Statistical Analysis - Insurance- Probability. We will be using a variety of project based, group and singular, and paper assignments that allow students to connect the classroom to their current and future lives outside of the classroom. Arming them with the knowledge of how and why things work the way that they do before they head into life after high school.
