Attention parents/community members: As can happen with day to day events - schedules do change due to a variety of circumstances. We try to do our best to inform our patrons of changes as soon as possible. The school calendar is always a reference to utilize to stay up to date on the latest changes. Every effort is made to update that as frequently as possible. There are changes to basketball games this week. The calendar has been updated to reflect those changes. Thank you.

Sudents in 7th grade science are using Jolly Ranchers to understand the rock cycle. Students started them as whole rock. They crushed them, representing weathering and erosion. They then put them in a cup with another cup on top and squised them with a large textbook for a week. This represented compaction, when the took them out it was a solid chunck, sedimentary rock. I asked them how can we make igneous rock from this...and they were able to figure it out!

Students in Anatomy have been working hard on a fingerprint and hair analysis lab. Studens were able to discover what features on fingerprints made them differentiated to each person. They also compaired blonde, brown, and red hair under the microscope, did a scaler imprint of there own hair, and looked at different species hairs under the microscope.

Jr Hi wrestlers Place 6 up at the Mullen Meet The crew continues to do well. We placed 6 of the 8 wrestlers we had at the Mullen meet, and all 8 of them won matches for us. We placed 6 out of the 10 teams there, but were only 14 points from 3rd place. Top 6 team scores: Valentine - 152 Sandhills/Thedford - 130 St. Pats - 107 Twin Loup - 106 Hershey - 101 Sandhills Valley - 93 Medal Placers were: 1st - Tucker Myers, Adi Brewer 2nd - Lilly Sheets 3rd - Hunter Schaeffer, Pierce Phelps 4th - Cotter Johnston J P Zuniga and Jaxon Mcentee won matches for us but did not place. We are very pleased with the team’s performance at Mullen. We won 18 and lost 9, and pinned 13 and were only pinned 5 times. Their hard work continues to pay off. Our short season ends next Tuesday out at Grant. We will see several new teams from the western half like: Bridgeport, Kimball, Perkins County and Ogallala. Coaches Halstead and Chloe

The 2nd graders have been busy in science class learning how to develop a model to represent the shapes and kinds of land and bodies of water in an area. They made frosting, graham cracker, and candy models of the land and water and then made a map of their landform creations.

Jr Hi Wrestlers Place 6 at St. Pats This may have been our toughest match so far. We wrestled well, but not our best. We won 13, lost 10 matches, and placed 6 of the 8 wrestlers we had there. That’s a good day, but we felt like we could have won a few more of the close ones that we lost. We wrestled against 13 area teams, the only new team we saw was the North Platte middle school team. They came in with 42 wrestlers on their team, but our team did well against them also! Those placing for us were: 1st - Tucker Myer, Pierce Phelps and Cotter Johnston 3rd - Lilly Sheets 4th - J P Zuniga and Zeydin Palmer Hunter Schaeffer also won a match, but did not place. Our season is quickly winding down. We go up to Mullen and finish out at Grant. We hope to keep the momentum going as we close out our season. As of today our win/loss record is 61 - 34. They have worked hard to earn that!!
